Description

Grape varieties: Syrah, Grenache and Cinsault.

Soil: Clay-limestone soil.

Temperature / Cellaring: Best enjoyed young whilst the fruit is still fresh at 7–8°C; this wine can be kept for one or two years in the cellar.

Our tasting notes: Peach-coloured. On the nose, elegant aromas of white flowers mingle with red fruits (redcurrant, raspberry), peach and citrus (grapefruit). On the palate, the attack is clean yet delicate. Aromas of sweet spices enhance the suppleness of this cuvée. The finish strikes a perfect balance between roundness and freshness.

Food and wine pairing suggestions: Thinly sliced Bayonne ham, cod brandade, young Cantal cheese.

Listed on France’s inventory of intangible cultural heritage since 2012, the game of tambourine ball is a sport that has been played in France since the late 14th century. It survives today mainly in the villages of the Hérault region but also in other countries such as Italy. It is a team sport involving two teams of five players, each equipped with tambourines, who must return the ball to the opposition’s half in a manner similar to tennis. In Languedoc Occitan, ‘tambornet’ refers to both the sport itself and the tambourine.
